COLLAB: Cabana Magazine x The Colombia Collective
We're shining a spotlight on one of our beloved collaboration projects with the infamous interiors, decorative arts & travel magazine, Cabana. The project first came about in summer 2021 and culminated in an exclusive launch party to celebrate the wonderful collection. BRAND
Cabana is an iconic brand for those in the know. Comprising of a sought after bi-annual magazine focusing on design and interiors, alongside a wonderful website of swoon worthy homewares encapsulating the brand's nomadic spirit and passion for global travel. They celebrate the beauty of the world through their eclectic design style and share an unrivalled passion for interiors.
DESIGN
The Cartagena Placemat features the classic design of our Sandra Placemats, but re-worked with a two-toned colourful twist. The intricate swirl details and open weave work create a light and airy feel whilst the geometric lines give it a modern edge. Available in a range of beautiful shades including a vibrant green & dark blue, a joyous red & soft pink, as well as an earthy maroon & rich red-purple. The perfect way to bring some opulence & colour to the table.
ARTISANS
The Cartagena Placemats are handwoven with the iraca plam leaf by our beloved Usiacurí artisans. Tucked away in the hills near Barranquilla, Usiacurí is one of the most peaceful towns in the country. Both men and women have been working with iraca palm for generations and if you peer through the windows, daughters, mothers and grandmothers can be seen weaving through the heat of the day. Iraca palm weaving is a long held tradition which continues to be passed down through the generations.
