About Agustina
Born in Argentina in 1979, Agustina studied photography at the Higher School of Applied Arts "Lino E. Spilimbergo" under the Faculty of Art and Design of the Provincial University of Córdoba. She then went on to complete her International Masters in Contemporary Photography and Project Management at the International Centre for Photography and Cinema (EFTI) in Madrid in 2006, whilst also gaining a Diploma in Lighting Design from the Complutense University of Madrid.
Her work has been exhibited in international photography festivals and contemporary art museums across the world, including Photo ESPAÑA and the "Emilio Caraffa" Provincial Museum of Fine Arts. She has participated in numerous art fairs such as Barcú and La Feria del Millón in Colombia and sold works to collectors from Argentina, North America and Colombia.
Her photography - based on the investigation of the popular culture of the jungle - offers a contemporary approach to questions of visual representation, including themes of identity, tradition, acculturation and visual anthropology of the Amazon region. The saturated colours in her photographs are not, to document the time and space where they were created, but rather as an expression of the artist's subjective observations. Despite the proximity and hyperreal representation, the nature of the jungle remains completely impenetrable throughout her images.
We are extremely proud to be working with such a talented photographer who offers a unique perspective on the traditions and cultures of Colombia. We hope that her work as part of The Colombia Collective Fine Art Prints will help to share with the world the extraordinary beauty that the country of Colombia and its surrounding areas has to offer.
