Guapi
Members of the Eperaara Siapidaara community have been weaving baskets for generations. Typically it is the women who craft, while the men trek up to three hours into the forest to harvest materials. Once the plants are carried back and left to dry for three days, the women can begin. Each basket takes around 8 to 10 days to create, with patterns inspired by the world around them - such as constellations, jaguar spots, snakes, spiders, the ants trail, and frogs.
