HANDWOVEN BY THE WOMEN OF THE WAYUU TRIBE

The Wayuu tribe occupy the harsh desert lands in the north of Colombia and into Venezuela. It is said that the art of weaving was taught to their ancestors by a mythical spider called Waleker. To this day, weaving remains a sacred part of their culture and identity. Each Wayuu piece is made by just one woman and can take 20 to 30 days to complete.

Lovely bag

A great bag. It is beautifully made, and a practical size. I found the strap just the right size to wear over my shoulder, not sure if it would work across the body.
Lovely colours, perfect for special occasions, etc..I am very happy with it and the dust bag is a great idea.
